North Atlantic 2017 – 2019

This blog was first published by the clever chaps at Mailasail as we travelled clockwise from Gosport to Cape Verde, Grenada, Cuba, Nova Scotia and home with stops in between.

The original version had a number of entries posted from the high seas via our Iridium Pilot satellite. These were deliberately short, devoid of colourful pictures and designed primarily to reassure our family and friends that we hadn’t foundered overnight.

The edited version is republished here with better quality photographs and one or two teeny typo corrections. And we’ve removed most of those mid-ocean position reports because they don’t add much to your reading pleasure five years on! You may find the remaining articles useful in deciding whether or not to visit the same places yourselves. We’d be delighted to hear of your experiences – has it changed since we blundered through?

If you’d like to read the glorious original, you still can at Escapade of Rame (mailasail.com)
